Leadership Development Training

The next Leadership Development Training will be heldĀ Seven Oaks Retreat Center, Madison, Virginia, August 2-4, 2013
Each year the Virginia Chapter invites active volunteers to come together for a Leadership Development Training retreat. This group usually includes but is not limited to the Chapter Board of Directors, the Delegates and Alternate Delegates, the Chapter Legislative Consultant and Fusion Coffee coordinators. The retreat includes time for volunteers to get to know each other and meet face to face, sometimes for the first time. There is also time allotted for hiking the grounds, bird watching, swimming and quiet meditation.
Strategic planning, fun team-building activities and a Chapter Board meeting are held and all guests are invited to attend. The primary focus of the retreat is Leadership Development Training and training for the Delegates and Alternates. Different speakers and subjects are selected each year to focus on activities that will help the volunteers become better Chapter leaders. The Leadership Development Training is offered to Chapter volunteers at no cost.
The atmosphere is relaxed and cordial at 7 Oaks, with excellent food and down-to-earth accommodations. Accommodations and three meals a day are provided.
We invite you to add your opinion and energy to our strategic planning 2013.
Several members will be chosen to participate in the retreat and have all your expenses paid. In order to be considered, you must be an AMTA member in good standing, be able to attend from Friday 8/2 at 5:00 until Sunday 8/4 at 2:00 and submit your application to be received no later than June 29, 2013.
